Herne and the red Kite

Hadley's songs are so touching and full of meaning for me that they just slap me in da face and give me so much inspiration I need to scream every time I draw a line. Herne and the Red Kite is one of them, and maybe one of the cutest, let's face it. 

And this one combines the voices of Hadley himself and of Rosalie Craig, who's like a goddess to me. And they singing it together is the cutest thing ever, specially this song. One day I stumbled onto a tweet where they call each other Herne and the Red Kite, and well, I don't really need to say who were the people I based off their looks, right? 

So in my head, MY HEAD ONLY, is that Herne is like a little explorer, with his little accessories and stuff, jumping from flower to flower until he found the Red Kite. I should have made him look more like a explorer but well this was the first time I drew them and it's really simple. And I'm REALLY happy with this. 

Also the painting, I loved the way I made the shadows, tried new things and got really satisfied with it. Also the background, okay, it's kinda sloppy, but t'was a little hard. I never drew children like this, nor a kite, and the Red Kite was really fun to draw. KITES. 

I don't know if my interpretation is fine, or if i'm 100% wrong, but I think this way is cute, maybe songs like that should inspire us to imagine it in our own ways. I'd like to know what Hadley thinks about this one, but hahahahahihihihi.

(UPDATE - 28/01) PS: I’ve just got informed the Red Kite is actually a bird. YOWZERS. Well, it might be, I don’t know the entire song, I’m not inside Hadley’s head, and specially don’t have the lyrics, but I think whether it’s a bird or an actual kite, the context is the same. The love, the feeling, the art is the same. If you read my text, I tried to be clear that I made my own interpretation with my own art, I’m so sorry if it’s not what you expected to see on Hadley’s tag. But what can I do, you can’t control love. Hope you like the next ones, HAHAH! (also guys how am i supposed to know every bird name in nature, a kite flies like a bird does)
