The Russian and his Megachessatron

Or Soviet.

Oh you little chess-y ugh. I've always loved (and still love) chess, always liked to play and all, I never was an expert of course but I'm really fond of the game. When I discovered Hadley was going to do a play based on a big wowy chess event I got pretty excited not only to see how he'd be as Garry and how the play was going to be, A CHESS PLAY. How would they make it dynamic and all. After seeing the pics from the rehearsals and the actual play I went mad, good lord that looked amazingly well done. There's a pic where he's flying I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON.

Boy, I'd love to know more about that play but nobody was brave enough to tell me some nice details, what I'd give to have a program or anything of that play. I'm still butthurt I couldn't be there watching that
thing, so butthurt. Really butthurt.

Okay. The drawing. I really hope Hadley noticed this one really nice because that thing Kasparov's holding is a Megachessatron, a megachessatron from a BBC video. I had watch it before The Machine but I never thought it'd get even funnier after Hadley tweeted it. I tried to draw a joke with it when The Machine was still on but yeah, my skills weren't enough.
He's really fun and simple to draw with his suit and all. In every pic, Hadley's Kasparov seemed to intense and focused, I had to try to do the same with his expressions, c'mon. That Megachessatron was hell go draw, that's it.
The BG is one of my faves, even though it's only the Russian flag (i know he's soviet but STILL GUYS BUT STIIIIIIIILL look at russia's flag) and I turned out nice behind him, plus I love flags.

You might want to see all the gang on THIS big big drawing, and if you want them one by one:

Tiernan - The Pirate Queen || Garry Kasparov - The Machine ||  Tullus Aufidius - Coriolanus

I saw the final show original production in Manchester! (The 'flying', he's actually just jumping off of the table.) I think it was one of the many choreographed sequences they had within the play.
I tweeted Hads the megachessatron video as well.

As always, really gorgeous work. I'm so happy you're posting these individually! I really like the contrast of light and dark in this. Only thing I can think of is maybe a little more shading on the megachessatron, because it looks a little flat compared to the rest of the drawing? This is fantastic. :) ('ll stop spamming you now, I promise!)
